International Research Center of Excellence (IRCE), IHVN, in their M-Health Intervention to Improve Breast Cancer Early Detection and Reduce Delays to Diagnosis in Nigeria (BRIDGE) study, has engaged SeamHealth in the development of a mobile application for documentation and reporting of early diagnosis and detection at PHC level, and a two-way referral process to and from selected tertiary health institutions for screening/testing and advanced cancer care. It is currently piloted in FCT.

The BRIDGE app is a simple, Android-based m-Health application designed for use by trained community health workers (CHWs) in rural settings to improve early detection and reduce delays to the diagnosis of breast cancer in Nigeria. It is a clinic-based patient referral service designed to enable CHWs to do the following: Guide the interview process with women who present with suspicious symptoms Perform clinical breast examination (CBE) in order to identify suspicious symptoms and offer an appointment at a designated referral hospital. Provide clear information on the patient referral pathway using a standardized process and guide women through the healthcare system until a diagnosis is made at the referral hospital.
